Monroe Darcell Fields, Jr. was born on March 16,
1985, in Florence, SC, to Rev. Monroe Fields, Sr. and the late Barbara H.
Fields Jones. From this union, two children were conceived. Mr. Fields is the
younger brother to Shanelle B. Fields and is the proud father of one son,
Jackson Monroe Fields. Monroe’s parents raised him with strong family values,
exemplary work ethics, and taught him that, “manners would open doors that
money could not."
Monroe is a man of unstinting principles and is fanatical about being
a good citizen. At the tender age of eleven, Monroe gave his life to the Lord
at Savannah Grove Baptist Church, Effingham, South Carolina, under the profound
leadership of Reverend Dr. Ralph W. Canty.
Darcell received his education in the public schools of Florence
School District Number 1, where he was a 2003 graduate of South Florence High
School. He then broadened his education at South Carolina State University,
where he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education and
Activity Management and graduated in May 2007.
After completing his undergraduate studies, destined to achieve
goals with vigor, Monroe decided to further extend his education and attended
Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in Atlanta, Georgia, where he graduated
with an Associate’s of Science Degree in Mortuary Science in August 2008, while
working part time at the prestigious Donald Trimble Mortuary. Monroe completed
a two-year apprenticeship at Pasley’s Mortuary, Charleston, SC, under the
tutelage of Rev. Marvin Pasley and Rev. Ephraim D. Stephens. Monroe Fields, Jr.
is a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in the state of South Carolina. Mr.
Fields is a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
Monroe’s three greatest passions in life include: God, Family and Funeral
Service. Monroe has always had dreams of owning a funeral home, now that his
dreams are alive; he plans to serve Summerton and surrounding areas to the
highest capacity.
