Creighton was born April 15, 1955 in Florence SC to David and Helen (Edwards) McAllister. He was a father, a grandfather, a brother, an uncle, and a friend. He left this world on July 26, 2020. While his presence will be missed, the spirit of him will be with us all.
Creighton accepted Christ at a young age and lived a life that was grounded on strong Christian values. He was a member of Jireth Pentecostal Holiness Church as a young adult and later joined Mt Sinai Deliverance Outreach Church where he served as the armor-bearer to the pastor.
Creighton was known to be one of the most dependable individuals you could ever meet. He was a kind, and selfless man who would minister to the needs of all others before his own. He was a fierce protector of those he loved and he cherished his family and friends more than anything.
Creighton was very charismatic. To be in his company was an experience of laughter and enjoyment as he lived his life to the fullest. His originality and candor made people love him even more. He had a soft spot in his heart for the youth. He assisted in raising several children throughout his life and would teach others how to work on cars and fix homes instead of hanging out in the streets.
He attended the public-school system in Florence, SC, graduating from Southside High School, Class of 1973. Upon graduation, he attended Job Corp in Kentucky where he received his Carpenter’s license. Upon returning home, Creighton regained acquaintance with and married Mattie Askins of Florence SC and they raised their two children Jerry Askins and Aniesha McAllister. Creighton spent most of his working years at Marlo and Creel until a work-related accident in 1989. He then continued his hobby of being an auto mechanic and carpenter, which he thoroughly enjoyed for the rest of his days.
Creighton is survived by his son, Jerry (Delaura) Askins of Florence, SC; one daughter, Aniesha McAllister-Randall, of Jacksonville, FL; three Honorary daughters, Miranda Graham, Dawn Soto, and Rae’Niesha (Lamont) Sellars all of Florence, SC; three grandchildren, Alana Randall, Ava Samuels and Atlas Cato all of Jacksonville, FL; seven Honorary grandchildren, Brianna Graham, Javis Graham, Ayanna Graham, Kylie Graham, Deveon Bello, Iyanna Bello and Anastasia Sellars all of Florence, SC; five brothers, David (Mary) McAllister, James (Betty Lee) McAllister, Randy (Angela) McAllister, David McAllister all of Florence, SC, Steven (Marilyn) McAllister of Atlanta, GA; nine sisters, Alberta Eaddy, Wessie (Moses) James, Betty Scott, Joyce (Gilbert) Simmons, Carlene Benjamin, Sharon Williams all of Florence, SC, Deborah Jones of Bowie, MD, and Mary McAllister of Fayetteville, NC; four brothers-in-law, four sisters-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
