Mother Julia Hampton Green, the widower of Mr. Wilson Green, was born on December 27,1943, in Clarendon County to late Malachi and Lou Sinkler Hampton. Mother Green was a lover of life. She enjoyed singing, and becoming a friend to everyone she met. On August 12, 2024 she exchange her cross for a crown at St. George Healthcare Center, in St. George, SC. Julia was affectionately known to many as Dot, Mom Green, and Lately OG!

She attended the public schools of Clarendon County.  In her youth, she joined St. Phillip UME Church. She later moved to Thomasville, NC where she joined Cornerstone Church of Christ under the leadership of Apostle James Carter. Upon returning back to Summerton, SC, she renewed her membership at St. Phillip UME Church where she served on the choir and the Stewardess Board.  She was very passionate about her church and loved her church family. Sis Green in her later years still serving God was honored to become the mother of her church.

Julia was employed by a variety of employers. She retired from Clarendon County School District. She was preceded in death by a sister, Jessie M. Mitchell, and a brother, Leroy Hampton Sr.

Those left to cherish her memories are two daughters, Linda (Praise) Richbourg of Thomasville, NC, Deborah (Moses) Parker of Killeen, TX; one son, Mark (Latres) Thames of the home; a sister, Viola Murray of Summerton, SC; a sister-in-law, Maxine Hampton; brother-in-law, Robert Green of Summerton, SC; five grandchildren that she loved deeply, Terrance and Marcus Richbourg of NC, Bryan and Joseph Parker of TX, and Marissa Thames of the home; a bonus granddaughter, Skylar Hilton of Summerton, SC; five step children, one goddaughter, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, dearly loved community members and church family.
