Dolly White Mitchell, widow of Moses AW Mitchell and daughter of the late Blade White and Francis Rose Adams White, departed this life on Sunday, March 17, 2024, in Manning, South Carolina . She was born in Hallsboro, North Carolina on June 28, 1944. She was educated in the public schools of Columbus County NC School District.
Mrs. Dolly Mitchell accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age. She was a member of the Greater St Philip RMUE Church for over 50 years. Before marrying Moses, and moving to South Carolina Dolly was employed by Bell Phone Company as a telephone operator. After moving to South Carolina in 1972, she was employed by the Clarendon County Public School System and Summerton Apparel until declining health forced her to discontinue her employment.
In addition to her parents, Blade and Francis Rosa Adams Green, she was preceded in death by two Brothers; Jimmy White, James (Sharon, deceased) White who leaves behind son Alex James White and daughter April White both of Atlanta Ga. - two Sisters; Rose Mae (Clarence, Deceased) Ponder and Sarah White who leaves behind son Lenord Garcia. She is also preceded in death by her beloved Daughter In-Law; Cherise Janelle McQuilla-Mitchell.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories, one Sister, Betsey Braswell of Jersey City NJ, husband, Moses A Mitchell, Sr. of Pinewood, SC, two sons, Moses A Mitchell, Jr. of Washington, DC, and Robert Mitchell of Bowie, MD ; three grandchildren, Katelyn Alexandria Mitchell, Sydney Cherise Mitchell and Robert Joshua Mitchell; Step daughter Brenda Lee Green Johnson (Jessie) and God-Children; Pamela Green Griffin, Morgan Green, Ashley Jackson and Samantha Gamble. In addition, Dolly truly adored her In-Laws; Georgia Mae Mitchell of Atlanta, GA, Carolyn (Amos) Holiday of Bowie, MD, Albertis (Barbara) Pugh of Thomasville NC, James (Francis) Mitchell of Jacksonville, FL, Samual Mitchell of Bowie, MD and Stanley (Sharon) Mitchell of Bergenfield, NJ, along with a host of nieces, nephews, beloved cousins and other relatives & friends.
