Frederick Matthew Richburg, affectionately known as “Freddie” was born on May 30, 1962 to the late Douglas Richburg and Rachel Witherspoon Richburg in Manning, South Carolina.
Freddie received his formal education in the public schools of Camden, New Jersey and Clarendon County, graduating from Scott’s Branch High School in 1981. After graduation, Freddie enlisted in the United States Army on June 18, 1981 and served several years before being honorable discharged.
In his early years, Frederick attended St. John Baptist Church of Camden, New Jersey. After relocating back to South Carolina he attended Historic Taw Caw Missionary Baptist Church. Recently Freddie regularly attended Union Baptist Church No. 2 in Andrews, SC under the leadership of Reverend Ralph Thompson.
On Monday, December 16, 2019 entered into eternal rest at his home in Manning, SC. Freddie was preceded in death by both parents, his grandparents; a sister, Ruther Mae Richburg; a brother, Kenneth Richburg and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He leaves to cherish his memories; a sister, Julie Richburg of Camden, New Jersey; a devoted and special Aunt, Sarah Jane (Billy) Nixon of Summerton, SC; one uncle, Harry (Sarah) Richburg of Summerton, SC, three additional aunts, Hattie Mae Brock of Summerton, SC, Cynthia Lee Butler, Baltimore, MD and Binkie Burgess of Kingstree, SC; a sister-in-law, Deirdre Gist Richburg and a host of loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends at the home of his aunt, Sarah Jane Nixon, 3407 JW Carter Rd Summerton, SC.
